This beautiful room was in need of some tlc, having last been decorated several years ago. ¬†A big space, with good natural light flooding in through the large bay window, it was serving many functions: a work space, a music room, and a place where guests can sleep on the sofa bed. ¬†However it wasn’t being fully utilised as a living room, in spite of the TV and pair of armchairs, and the client wanted to address this. Residential project: cloakroom

A downstairs cloakroom, under the stairs, can sometimes be a bit neglected. This was the case with this project, where the whole room needed an update. Out went the carpet, old sanitary ware, radiator and lighting. In came underfloor heating topped with a shiny black stone floor, sleek new toilet and washbasin, heated towel rail and bright modern lighting. An open plan living/dining area is transformed

The client, who was widely travelled, had acquired a number of artefacts, rugs and pictures. Together with furniture that had been purchased at different stages of her life, this meant that the lounge was visually confusing and in need of ‘pulling together’. We agreed that we would go back to basics, which meant a new colour scheme, furniture, lighting and soft furnishings.
